Reimagining Living Ontologies

  • School of Arts, Media, Performance and Design @ York University 89 York Boulevard Toronto, ON, M3J Canada (map)

Reimagining Living Ontologies is a project created by Ilze (Kavi) Briede, a PhD student in Digital Media at York University. It is a data art and immersive projection technological piece that uses scientific and artistic approaches in data visualisation systems. In these performances, Kavi will use computer software to visually express biophysical data from Amy as the sole performer in the dome. Amy’s heartbeat, breathing and muscle movements will generate audio-visual scenery inside an immersive 360 video projection dome. The result is an immersive, musical space using a 360-degree surround video-projected landscape that visually expresses and articulates the performer’s body in performance. More information about the project here.
